Dr. Susmita Halder is an academician, researcher, and licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in teaching and consultancy.

A gold medalist from Calcutta University, Dr Susmita completed her M.Phil and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences (RINPAS).

Currently, she is a Professor of Psychology and serves as the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Studies, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Additionally, she is the Secretary of the Asian CBT Association.

Throughout her career, Prof. Halder has collaborated with leading academic institutions and super specialty hospitals across India, including Manipal College of Medical Science, Fortis Hospital Kolkata, Medica Super speciality Hospital and Amity University Kolkata. She also headed the Dept. of Clinical Psychology at Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata

She has contributed as Research Psychologist in ‘The Cognition Group’ (US) assisting in development of the Cogtest Neuropsychological Battery; and been associated with the Pearson Group for standardization of Indian adaptation of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale- IV, Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, and the Beck Youth Inventory.

Her primary areas of interest include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), cognitive training, aging, and suicide prevention. Her dual identity as both clinician and academic allows her to combine scientific knowledge with hands-on therapeutic practice.She has over 100 research publications and several authored books on mental health. Prof. Halder has also shared her expertise through talks and seminars on both national and international platforms.
